MEET THE DEV · CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA
Built Different.
Built by Dub.
One developer. A whole lot of ideas. And a belief that better decisions start with better data.
01 · THE STORY
There had to be a better way to make the call.
I’m Chad Whitesel, better known as Dub. I build Fortified Fantasy independently from central Pennsylvania. It started where three of my interests overlap: fantasy sports, digging into data, and building tools for problems I keep running into.
A ranking could tell me which player was ahead. I still wanted to know whether the difference mattered for my roster, what might change by Sunday, and whether a one-week fix would cost me a better player in December. Those are the questions I wanted the site to answer.
02 · HOW I LEARNED TO BUILD
Engineer by Training. Builder by Nature.
Learn the system
I earned an associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology with a 3.94 GPA. Over 12 years at Amazon, I worked on data, quality analytics, operational improvement, and technical projects. Amazon Technical Academy gave me experience with Java and another way to put that curiosity to work.
Put it to the test
That same curiosity led me to iOS development, including Stevie’s Playhouse on the App Store and multiple TestFlight projects. It also took me into the cockpit, where I earned a private pilot certificate and instrument rating. Both reward preparation and honest feedback when something doesn’t go as expected.
03 · WHY FORTIFIED FANTASY EXISTS
A ranking is the start of the research.
Fantasy managers deserve enough context to make their own calls. That means knowing how a player is being used, where projections disagree, and what a move does to your team beyond this week.
Start/Sit ↗
Compare projections, matchups, and availability before you lock in a starter.
Player Research ↗
Dig into advanced research and usage to see what’s behind the fantasy points.
Waiver Decisions ↗
Compare pickups, weigh a drop, and check what a claim might be worth.
GamePlan ↗
Build a roster plan that covers lineups, future holes, and your playoff push.
04 · THE ROAD AHEAD
What Comes Next
AVAILABLE NOW
Football tools and leagues
GamePlan, The Prestige, and Mini Leagues are already part of Fortified Fantasy. I want to make the connected-team experience easier and keep improving the league tools.
PLANNED
More ways to play
Native Fortified Fantasy mobile apps and research tools for fantasy basketball and hockey are part of the longer-term plan.
05 · THE PHILOSOPHY
“One bite at a time.”
Build a piece small enough to test. See where it helps and where it falls short. Learn from it, improve it, and do it again.
06 · CHAD’S INDEPENDENT PROJECTS
The Dub Lab
A collection of ideas, experiments, finished projects, and projects that are perpetually 90% complete.
