FORTIFIED PROJECTIONS · v4

Your season.
A clearer forecast.

More useful inputs. A consistent point of view. A better way to understand the possibilities before you make your move.

You don’t need another number with a louder promise. You need to know what the forecast is saying, why it might differ from another source, and how much uncertainty comes with the decision.

That’s the thinking behind Fortified Projections v4: expanded source coverage, position-specific blending and a clearer distinction between expected points, medians and scoring ranges.

More of the picture.

CBS and FFToday join compatible FantasyPros, ESPN and Sleeper inputs where available. Raw statistics are normalized to the selected scoring rules.

The position matters.

Quarterbacks, running backs, receivers, tight ends, kickers and defenses use position-specific provider weights—not one universal mix.

Understand the spread.

Expected points set the ranking. Available medians and experimental outcome ranges show another dimension of the decision.

One forecast. A consistent call.

Fortified Rankings orders players by the FF expected score, or mean. Start/Sit uses that same current forecast for its points preference, with availability and lineup locks checked separately.

We’ve also removed a second experimental blend that could reverse a close-call headline after the FF forecast had already been calculated. Saved Boosted Trees, Workload and Monte Carlo outputs stay available as evidence. They are not counted again as independent votes.

A range is a possibility—not a promise.

A median describes the middle of a modeled scoring distribution. The mean describes its expected score. They can differ, particularly when big scoring outcomes pull the average upward.

Where a compatible saved simulation is available, the window shows an experimental middle 80% range. A player can finish outside it. We’re collecting prospective coverage to measure how well those windows perform; “80%” is the intended interval, not an already-proven success rate.

What this means for your next decision.

Use Start/Sit for a lineup choice. Use Pickups and Drop/Add for roster decisions and their stated time windows. GamePlan considers your eligible starters, legal moves, bye coverage and league playoff settings. A rest-of-season plan answers a different question from a single-week ranking.

Missing or incompatible sources are excluded, with the remaining inputs reweighted. Custom league scoring and available inputs can differ from public presets. A forecast does not confirm that an injured player will play.

The upgrade is real. The accuracy test is still ahead.

We preserve saved forecasts and their original timestamps. New v4 forecasts are evaluated against later actuals; earlier grades don’t become v4 results. We won’t claim v4 beats another provider until a suitable prospective sample supports it.

When displayed forecasts match

Weekly rankings and recommendations favor the higher FF-minus-ESPN margin when both ESPN projections are available. This is a tiebreaking preference, not a measured chance of beating ESPN. When coverage differs, a player with a saved benchmark is the labeled default; missing values are never zero. With equal coverage and margin, we use unrounded FF points, comparable FantasyPros or Sleeper projections, then a clearly labeled stable default. Availability and legal lineup rules still apply.
