A Bunch of Waiver Wire Prospects

One grid. Nine names. Very different reasons to make a claim.

Nine Week 9 waiver prospects with J.J. McCarthy in the center

McCarthy or Cousins? If you need one starter this week, compare the two on that job. If you’re claiming a quarterback to keep, the format changes the decision. In Superflex, having another starting quarterback can matter every week. In a one-QB league, the same roster spot could be more valuable as running back depth.

That’s where Jonah Coleman and the other backs come in. Start by asking when you’d actually put the pickup in your lineup. A back you need this Sunday and a back you can hold for a role change should have different prices.

The nine waiver decisions

RB · LV

Mike Washington Jr.

He carried 25 times in Week 8. The question is whether that early-down assignment persists alongside Ashton Jeanty.

Tyler Allgeier

His Week 8 production makes him a priority to investigate. Check Arizona’s backfield availability and the allocation of touches before pricing the next several weeks.

Jonah Coleman

He produced through both rushing and receiving in Week 8. The bid should reflect his current share of Denver’s work, not just the final fantasy score.

Emmett Johnson

Five catches for 128 yards drove the Week 8 result. Receiving involvement matters; repeating that yardage on five catches is not a sound baseline.

J.J. McCarthy

The Giants named McCarthy their starter before their bye. That gives him relevance in formats where starting quarterbacks are scarce; assess the upcoming games against your actual alternatives.

Harold Fannin Jr.

Ten catches for 154 yards in Week 8 show involvement beyond a touchdown spike. He is already widely rostered, so first check your own league.

WR · NYJ

Adonai Mitchell

His Week 8 line was seven catches, 142 yards and a touchdown on nine targets. Garrett Wilson and Omar Cooper remain relevant competition for future opportunities.

Rachaad White

His Week 8 line included 55 rushing yards, a rushing touchdown and two catches. Evaluate the role and the weeks you need covered rather than treating the touchdown as recurring income.

A useful quarterback streamer can still have limited scarcity in a one-QB league. Confirm the matchup, active status and starting role before making a claim.
